this got a great laugh out of me (not at the game, just with the premise).
i agree it took me like 3-4 mins to realize the facial expressions in the top left. music cuts out if you leave page on too long. wheel scroll accidentally skipped all the dialogue.
great little thing, i shared it with all my friends. thanks!
I think the UI turned out really well! A time limit or some feedback on attacks could go a long way here. I appreciated that the game had volume options!
Good feedback! I wanted it to be a bit hidden, but there's a small way to tell if an attack did one or two hits worth of damage: the number of exclamation marks in the attack :)

I always have my system volume really low, so I can never figure out if a given sound is too loud for other users :)
I want more feedback on how I'm doing with the pilots! Either damage numbers of different sizes, or hp bars on the enemy.
Lots of fun to play and try to get the emotional tone right with these kids though, great entry and perfect aesthetically!
