Harry Houdini and the Mummified Meanies
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
In 1910, famed Illusionist Harry Houdini took a vacation in Egypt.
In 1924, horror writer H.P. Lovecraft ghostwrote an account of Houdini's visit. In the story, Houdini is kidnapped, trapped beneath a pyramid, and witness to inhuman horrors.
The truth of the matter is stranger than fiction:
Houdini's true purpose in Egypt at the time was to rob the Pyramids of their riches and relieve the tombs of their numerous gold bars.
Controls
[WASD] - move
[SPACE] - jump and enter doors
[ESC] - pause
[F2] - toggle fullscreen
Controllers are supported as well.
Known Bugs
- Runs poorly on older devices, including laptops with integrated graphics. The game may not be beatable if you find Houdini unable to jump 3-4 blocks high.
- Runs best at 60 Hz. If you have a 120 Hz monitor, try limiting to 60 Hz if you are able.
I'm sorry about the bugs. It's a jam game and I ran into some issues that were really difficult to troubleshoot without access to the types of hardware that were causing the issues.
